Interactive Mural in Regional Victoria
Category: Animals & Nature Murals | School Murals
This project is a great example of the power in public art when it’s shared especially within regional towns with kids that otherwise wouldn’t have the opportunity to express themselves on a larger scale and learn some new techniques along the way. This artwork was designed with inspiration from students and teachers from the school with important flora and fauna from their local rivers and green lands. Once narrowed down we came to the: Kookaburra, frog, & duck. I then took these key images and created a visual narrative simple enough for students of all different skill levels and age levels to bring to life.
With my design background the concept side of things is a sinch! Offering simple flexibility we where able to run through a few different renditions of the design through the digital sketching stages later getting to the coloured version and than of course building a class structure for the students get their hands dirty.
With my School Murals I pride myself in riding that thin line between making the project simple enough so that everyone can have a hand in bringing it to life while also finishing up with an incredible piece and this process was a great example of that.
